BAFTA short film Research

March 8, 2010

The secondary research i have used is www.IMDB.com. Here i was able to find information on who directed my chosen short film, who edited my short film and information on the entire cast.

Primary Research

March 8, 2010

I have managed to contact the director of my short film Tony Fish and he has given me his mobile number. i have also spoken to my friend face to face about being an insomniac and how it was different from the character in the short film.

Who i think will win an oscar and who i want to win an Oscar.

February 23, 2010

As i believe the best animated film of last year was Up. I think that it should win the Oscar for best animation as it had all the qualities of a good narrative such as a journey, good characters and an evil villan, that was what made the film for me amoung the obvious good animation skills that have been put into the making of the film. I do believe that a film that opposes Up is probably Coraline as it also contains very good animation, however i do not believe that it does match up to the quality of the narrative to that of Up.

Biopics

January 28, 2010

the Biopic that i enjoyed most would have to be La Vie En Rose. it is a Biopic of Edith Piaf, it follows the story of her life from birth right through to her death. the main reason i enjoyed the film was because it went into great detail such as when she went blind whilst living in a brothel to when she was taught the song no regretts most famously known from the Spec Savers advert.

Arguments for Film and Music piracy

January 12, 2010

Some people are for film and music piracy. some of the reasons are that an album only has a few good songs on it so why would they pay for the rest of the unliked songs (BBC1) . Another reason for pirating music is that the five biggest music companies were sued for CD price fixing so why would people trust to pay for a CD if the price has been put up higher (Lieberman). Other people believe that peer to peer software should not be shut down as they contain many useful applications (Creative commons).

Films that let me down

December 1, 2009

I have found the film that let me down would have to be The Incredibles, i went to see the film at the cinema and i expect good things from a Pixar film i expect good things such as Toy Story, but no it let me down as the only good and funny parts from the film were all in the trailer. So i foun this film a massive dissapointment.

Apocalyptic films

November 24, 2009

im not sure why we like apocalyiptic films although i do. especially zombie films such as 28 days later and weeks. i also like the film armagedeon as it has a number of good actors the main being Bruce Willis the star of the die hard movies. so i think that  maybe some extensive research should be carried out to find out why the counry is full of people who like these films. i have to admit although they are enjoyable is it the sort  of film we should love as a the end of the day the end of the world would mean the end of us and it would just create a big dissaster.
